Top 13 Books of 2019
Denver Book Blogger Reviews
Here it is! My Top 13 Books of 2019!
2019 may have been my favorite year for books.
I originally was going to have this be a Top 10 list. But I thought, why don’t I give you a book a month to try? That way, you can think of me all year long. And, being the nerd that I am, I decided to give a nod to the Thirteenth Tale and pick 13 books. Who doesn’t like good literary allusion?
So without further ado, here are my Top 13 books from 2019. What I love about this list is it truly represents my various reading tastes. There’s everything from historical fiction to Sci Fi to YA and a mystery thrown in for good measure. The truth is…I love to read. I have no boundaries when it comes to content so I’m able to fall in love with a diverse spectrum of books.
1 – Becoming by Michelle Obama
2 – God of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
3 – A Woman is No Man by Etaf Rum
4 – Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
5 – Sadie by Courtney Summers
6 – The Guest House by Sarah Blake
7 – Island of Sea Women by Lisa See
8 – This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger
9 – Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang
10 – The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates
11 – Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
12 -The Toll by Neal Shusterman
13 – Dark Age by Pierce Brown
I encourage you to stretch yourself this year!! Pick up a biography. Try out a high fantasy novel. Give historical fiction a go. There are so many incredible, powerful voices in the literary community it’s time to get to know some new faces!
