Rainbow Stack
#bookstackchallenge
I was asked by some friends in the bookstagram community to make a Rainbow Stack for a #stackchallenge on IG. Naturally, the first thing that came to mind was God’s promise in the bible. The middle of a pandemic and worldwide health crisis & economy melt down seems like the perfect time to make a rainbow stack and remind everyone what the rainbow means.
“This is the sign of the covenant I make between you & me & every living creature for perpetual generations.” Genesis 9:12
This is a sign of hope. A promise that never again would an event on earth destroy all flesh on land. It’s a reminder that we are not alone. To not be afraid. It’s a promise of a brighter day ahead.
Friends, I hear you. I see you. I get it. This pandemic has gone on and on and on. We have all lost things – people, jobs, security, routines, our health – that rattles us to the core of our being.
But this isn’t the end. There is more to come. JOY comes in the morning. Our mercies are renewed fresh each day. So let’s not live in fear. Let’s remember to seek the good in the every day. To find joy in the small moments. To have a heart of thankfulness even in the middle of our lacking.
Read books! Go on walks. Take naps. Facetime a friend. Journal your feelings. Meditate. Bake. Write letters. Sing! Breathe. Don’t forget to breathe.
And most of all take care, my friends. Love well.
Yourself and others.
