The Dating Playbook
I adore @farrahrochon, ever since I got to chat with her after our @thechicklitbookclub group read The Boyfriend Project. Farrah is funny, approachable, down to earth and joyful. She somehow seems to permeate the pages of her novels with those same qualities. The Dating Playbook was no different.
SUMMARY
The story follows a Fitness Instagrammer named Taylor, who is hired by a professional football player to be his personal trainer. Jamar wants her to get him in shape before the NFL combine but can’t let anyone know in case he’s not ready in time. She poses as his girlfriend to keep reporters from thinking she’s hosting workouts at his home.
REVIEW
Fake relationships are always a trope I love, but add in all the sports and fitness woven throughout The Dating Playbook and I was hooked. My husband used to work for the Seahawks and my son worked at Orange Theory. So I felt right at home with the lingo and passions of these two characters. You could feel the chemistry jump off the page.
And Farrah always nails it with the female friendships. The squad is back in this, as Taylor is one of the friends from the Youtube phishing scandal in The Boyfriend Project. You don’t have to read that one first to enjoy this one, but it’s fun to see the characters supporting each other again.
Add in the disability rep, Jamar’s grief journey, and family drama…this one was a HIT!! Thank you @ForeverPub and Farrah Rochon for sending me this #gifted book! This book releases August 17, 2021.
