For The Love of Friends
Momma Leighellen's Book Review
For The Love of Friends was so much fun!!
I have been a professional photographer for almost twenty years now. I have shot a LOT of weddings. Before that, I was the wedding coordinator for our church. So let me tell you, For the Love of Friends was SPOT ON when it came to describing the insanity that is the wedding industry. It can turn normally wonderful people into complete nightmares!
For the Love of Friends follows a gal named Lily who is in her mid thirties. She somehow ends up in FIVE weddings, all during the same season. Two are family. The next two are friends. The last one is a coworker. To help her cope with the added stress (and not murder any of the brides) she decides to blog about her experiences.
This book was hilarious and adorable and so relatable!! We have ALL rolled our eyes at the bridesmaid dresses we’ve had to wear. Or cringed at comments from the Mother of the Bride. There is so much fodder and the author gets to all of it. There’s also a sweet romance that blooms along the way as Lily tries desperately to avoid falling victim to the classic trope of hooking up with a groomsman. But friend zoning the boy of her dreams gets harder as they get closer over the course of the wedding season.
This will give you all the 27 Dresses feels. It’s fun, it’s flirty, and you will laugh out loud. Thanks Sara Goodman Confino for the book. And thank you to Kate Rock Book Tours for putting me on the book tour!
