SEPTEMBER BOOK CLUB PICKS

Is there anything better than reading with friends?  

I have met so many amazing people by hosting a book club discussion every month! I have loved every author interview I host on my Book Tube channel, our Discord chats where we go in depth, and all the little IG discussions.  As #mommaleighellensbookclub has grown and changed over the past year, I enlisted the help of my friends Missy and Kristin to keep us on track with communication.  

We will always feature a historical fiction book each month, since that is my first love.  And there will always be a BOTM pick!  But now with the input from Missy (who loves contemporary fiction) and Kristin (who loves thrillers) we will expand our books, discussions, and communication. 

So here are our picks for September and the chat dates!  As well as a look at the two new faces behind the bookclub!   All chats will be on Sundays at 6pm MST via the Discord app.  DM if you’d like to join any of the book chats for this month! 

A Million Things: Chat and Author Zoom 9/12. A coming of age story about a grieving, resilient 10 year old girl. 

The Riviera House:  Chat 9/19 Author Zoom 9/25. This is a classic dual timeline historical fiction novel set during WWII that tells the story of the resistance fighters who risked everything to save fine art from falling into Nazi hands. 

Rock Paper Scissors:  Chat 9/26 This was both a @botm and @authenticbookbox pick!  A domestic thriller about a marriage on the rocks. 

The Sweetest Remedy: Chat 10/3 A comical romance about a young biracial woman who heads to Nigeria to learn more about her family history after the death of her father. 

Shoot me a DM if you’d like to join the discussions!  We create IG chats for communication and friendship, the actual book discussions take place on the Discord app with a series of in depth questions, and some even get author chats via zoom.  Come join the fun!
