BOOK CLUB PICKS

Hi friends!  Here are the #mommaleighellensbookclub Book Club picks for August!  There are just TWO options this month. It’s a busy month with taking our son to college and then all the back to school shenanigans for our other son.  But they are two FANTASTIC books that I know you will enjoy and will provide lots to talk about!  

The People We Keep: a story about a young songwriter who chronicles her life in the songs she writes. Along the way she discovers that where she came from doesn’t dictate where she’s headed.  A beautiful, character driven coming of age story set in 1994 New York.

Sisters in Arms:  This is a historical fiction novel that tells true story of the Six Triple Eight. They were an all-Black battalion in the Women’s Army Corps deployed overseas during WWII.
